Why Celebrities Are Hiding Their Children
While they are constantly photographed and make a living out of being in the limelight, there are many celebrities who despise having their personal lives, and even more so their children, being caught in the public eye. Here are some of the reasons why they hide their children:
1. Privacy
While all of us love seeing them, celebrities know first-hand about the ill effects of the lack of privacy. They know what it feels like to be constantly followed. With the paparazzi recording every move of theirs. They also know that children need space to make the mistakes required to make them good adults.
2. Normal Childhood
I’m sure that this point is the most valuable reason as to why celebrities are hiding their children! Celebrities have to constantly walk a fine line between reality and screen life. Children cannot differentiate between the two. Therefore, celebrities keep them out of the public eye to ensure that they have a normal childhood and are able to do normal childlike things.
3. Personal Space
Children need a lot of personal space to learn and grow. Space, that is free from constant watch and judgement. The media, unfortunately, is constantly looking for people who mess up. Any mistake or misdemeanor is considered huge news.
4. Anonymous Bullying
While Twitter and Instagram are huge sources of entertainment, and a way for everyone to publish everything about their lives, a lot of people, let alone celebrities, know how much of criticism and bullying they are subjected to, via social media. This leads to things like depression, stress and anxiety, even for a small child.
Celebrities Who Managed To Keep Their Children Out Of The Spotlight
While some celebrities love their children being in the limelight, here is a list of celebrities who are notorious for keeping their children away from the public eye:
1. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis
Kutcher and Kunis have both been very secretive about their children. Both of them being exposed at very young ages, namely 20 and 14 respectively, know first-hand the ill effects of being exposed to paparazzi at a young age.
2. Gwenyth Paltrow and Chris Martin
While everyone has heard of Apple and Moses, Paltrow and Martin have made every effort to keep their children out of the media eye.
3. Adele
Although many pictures have been seen of his feet and the back of his head, Adele has yet to release any official pictures of her son. She even took a very long time to release his name.
4. Penelope Cruz
Cruz has said that she would like her current and future children to remain as anonymous as possible.
5. Charlize Theron
Theron herself does not like the paparazzi and has often been photographed flipping them the bird. She took a few months to announce the news of her adopting a little boy.
These are only a few celebrities mentioned here but, more and more celebrities are hiding their children, and following the trend of keeping their children away from the public eye. People are becoming more and more aware of the ill effects of being in the public eye and want their children to have as normal a childhood as possible.
