Sometimes things do not happen the way we want it to and it makes you want to scream, cry and blame everything on God, right? Okay Drama Queen, stop exaggerating now, we both know that doing that won’t make your hair look better! Take a deep breath, I promise you everything will be fine with just these 10 Steps!

10 Steps to turn your Bad Hair Day into a Good Hair Day

1. Support Your Look

I’m sure if you are one to really make a big deal about your hair to that extent, then you are the type of person to possess a bunch of beauty tools to support your look. By this I mean – dry shampoo, hair dryer, flat/curling iron, headband, bobby pins, hair-tie and claw clips. Am I right or Am I right? Make sure you have at least a few of these accessories handy at all times for those bad hair days.

2. Oil, Oil, Go Away!

Do not, I repeat, do not go anywhere with greasy and dirty hair. You can not let people who you converse with, notice your head and assume that you are lazy and untidy. That’s a BIG No-No!

I know you might not have time to wash all of your hair but perhaps you can wash only the front and side part of your hair? Wash a small section of your hair (preferably your fringe) in the sink, dry it with a towel and then blow dry it.  This will give you the appearance of having washed all your hair.

3. Dry Shampoo

For those of you all who really don’t have time to wash it, use dry shampoo.  It not only helps absorb the oil, it even makes your hair smell good. I suggest experimenting and testing various types to know which type of dry shampoo works best in your hair. Dry shampoo is also perfect for those with curly hair, who can’t afford to wash and dry their hair every day but, still it ready and all done up!

Powder based will help those of you with fine/thin hair by adding more volume to it, just make sure not to leave white residue on your scalp. The Aerosol based shampoo is usually better for those who have thick hair. Put your hair into sections and spray dry shampoo a few inches from the root.

4. Change Your Parting

The easiest way to turn a bad hair day around is to change your parting. If you normally wear your hair with a middle parting, try wearing a side parting for a change as it less likely to appear oily. This is perfect for those with short hair!

5. Head Band Cover-Up

Another trick is to cover your hair with the perfect headband and you are good to go. My suggestion would be to pick a headband wide enough to cover the greasy part, and if it is possible find one with the same or a similar shade of the color of your hair to pull off the clean look.

6. Tied Up

A ponytail? Well duh, of course! Easy right! Try a high ponytail for a stylish look or a low ponytail for a typical casual/down to earth look. Perfect for that messy hair look in school!

7. Stun Them with a Bun!

Make a bun or top knot to achieve a clean and sophisticated look. Use hair-ties and booby pins to secure your bun. You can also try a messy bun to create a cute and effortless look.

8. Clip-Clap

A hair clip is another savior! It can help you do either the simple up do or half up do which is extremely helpful during your bad hair days. Another perfect look for school!

9. Braid-It

Braids to the rescue! Since you have a nice and clean front part of the hair by following step 2; it doesn’t matter if your remaining hair still looks messy. Just put it in a braid and voila! You just turned your bad hair day around!

10. Tame Your Hair

For those of you who have unruly natural curls after showering at night, the best way to tame it is to use a curling iron. If you have less than 10 minutes to solve you bad hair day problem then try wrapping a large section of your hair around the barrel. You will save time and still manage to look presentable.

I know today didn’t start as your best day but, make sure there are no other things to worry you beside your hair. So put your make up on, choose your best styled outfit annddd you are now ready to face the world (bad hair day?? Shhhh…They’ll never know!)
